The Openreach Supply chain (ONSA) project aimed to reset all of Openreach’s supplier agreements through a comprehensive contract alignment and retendering process. This involved reassessing supplier capabilities to ensure that the right companies were allocated to the right areas, optimizing efficiency and service delivery. As part of this initiative, a new weighting system was devised to better assess suppliers, taking into account key factors such as performance, cost, and expertise. Additionally, the project introduced NEC4 (New Engineering Contract) as a framework to enhance the control and management of supplier contracts going forward, ensuring clearer terms, improved risk management, and better overall governance. The project’s outcomes aimed at streamlining supplier relationships while fostering more effective and sustainable partnerships.
